CEREC One Visit Crowns
Restore your natural, beautiful smile with one-day crowns.
CEREC one-visit crowns provide you with the highest quality, most lifelike dental restorations in just one visit to The Grove City Center for Dentistry.
Dr. Simone and Dr. Lowe can easily create and place a crown the same day as your appointment using CEREC technology. We can restore decayed teeth, place crowns, or remove defective amalgam fillings in just one appointment.
What is the CEREC One-Visit Crown Procedure at The Grove City Center for Dentistry?
At The Grove City Center for Dentistry, Dr. Simone or Dr. Lowe will take digital images of your tooth and mouth and upload them into the CEREC software system. Using CAD/CAM technology, a computerized image of your tooth is created to fit the exact dimensions of your newly restored tooth. This software system accounts for every detail of your mouth when creating a tooth that will look as natural as possible.
The instructions are then sent to our CEREC milling machine, which will “mill” or create the crown. The CEREC software is so accurate, that there is very little need to make any adjustments once the crown is in place. We create and place the crown all in one visit.
What is the difference between a regular dental crown and a CEREC One-Visit Crown?
- CEREC crowns are made right in our office during a single visit.
We do not need to construct a temporary crown or take impressions for a permanent crown. We use a machine called a CEREC and CAD/CAM software to create the crown inside the CEREC machine. Using this technology, Dr. Simone and Dr. Lowe are able to design a tooth that matches your natural tooth color and place it in your mouth that day.
- Traditional crowns take a few visits.
We will take impressions for a permanent crown, and then construct a temporary crown for you to wear. We send your impressions to a lab and wait for your permanent crown to be constructed. Then, you return to our office so we can “fit” and bond the crown to your tooth. Traditional Dental crowns can be made of various materials, including, porcelain, all-ceramic, metal or resin.
Am I a candidate for a CEREC Crown?
Most patients who need a crown benefit from the CEREC one-day crown procedure. During your dental exam or consultation, Dr. Simone or Dr. Lowe will discuss the best options for your dental needs and incorporate those options into your treatment plan. It is important to understand that all crowns serve the same purpose – to cover your natural tooth with a protective cap. A crown can cover:
- A tooth that has had a root canal
- A weak tooth due to a large filling or concern that it may crack or break in the future
- A dental implant
- A broken or cracked tooth
- An anchor tooth to support a bridge
