One Visit Crowns : Grove City Center for Dentistry

One Visit Crowns

Restore your natural, beautiful smile with one-day crowns.

One-visit crowns provide you with the highest quality, most lifelike dental restorations in just one visit to The Grove City Center for Dentistry.

Dr. Simone and Dr. Lowe can easily create and place a crown the same day as your appointment using advanced technology. We can restore decayed teeth, place crowns, or remove defective amalgam fillings in just one appointment.

What is the One-Visit Crown Procedure at The Grove City Center for Dentistry?

At The Grove City Center for Dentistry, Dr. Simone or Dr. Lowe will take digital images of your tooth and mouth and upload them. Using CAD/CAM technology, a computerized image of your tooth is created to fit the exact dimensions of your newly restored tooth. This software system accounts for every detail of your mouth when creating a tooth that will look as natural as possible.

The instructions are then sent to our milling machine, which will “mill” or create the crown.  It is so accurate, that there is very little need to make any adjustments once the crown is in place.  We create and place the crown all in one visit.

What is the difference between a regular dental crown and a Zirconia dental crown?

At Grove City Center for Dentistry, we prioritize offering our patients the highest-quality dental solutions, which is why we use zirconia crowns instead of CEREC one-day crowns. Zirconia crowns provide unparalleled strength, durability, and aesthetics, making them a superior choice for restorative dental care.

  • Strength and Durability: Zirconia crowns are exceptionally tough and resistant to wear, making them ideal for patients who clench or grind their teeth (bruxism). Unlike CEREC crowns, zirconia can withstand significant pressure without chipping or cracking.
  • Cosmetic Appeal: Zirconia offers the strength of metal with the natural beauty of cosmetic restorations. Its translucent quality closely mimics the appearance of natural teeth, providing a seamless, attractive result.
  • Longer-Lasting Solution: While CEREC one-day crowns are convenient, they may not offer the same longevity as zirconia. Zirconia crowns are designed to provide a lasting, reliable solution for your dental restoration needs.

Traditional crowns take a few visits.

  • We will take impressions for a permanent crown, and then construct a temporary crown for you to wear. We send your impressions to a lab and wait for your permanent crown to be constructed. Then, you return to our office so we can “fit” and bond the crown to your tooth. Traditional Dental crowns can be made of various materials, including, porcelain, all-ceramic, metal or resin.

Am I a candidate for a Zirconia Crown?

Most patients who need a crown benefit from the one-day crown procedure.  During your dental exam or consultation, Dr. Simone or Dr. Lowe will discuss the best options for your dental needs and incorporate those options into your treatment plan. It is important to understand that all crowns serve the same purpose – to cover your natural tooth with a protective cap. A crown can cover:

  • A tooth that has had a root canal
  • A weak tooth due to a large filling or concern that it may crack or break in the future
  • dental implant
  • A broken or cracked tooth
  • An anchor tooth to support a bridge
